Description:
The Saga-1 Emperor is a keyboard upgrade for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer. The Sinclair's original keyboard was a 'reduced cost' design with 40 rubber keys and was not the best to use on a regular basis. This led to various aftermarket keyboard upgrades of which the Saga-1 was Saga Systems first product.
The Saga-1 incorporates 67 keys, 40 of which perform the original functions and the remaining 27 are duplicates of important keys. The duplicated keys are labelled as their main purpose, making it easier to locate a specific key function which might otherwise be a secondary function on the main keyboard.
The keyboard itself includes a replacement top case for the ZX Spectrum.
This particular exhibit has been used on the ZX Harlequin project and currently contains a ZX Spectrum Superfo Harlequin Rev.G.
