Description:
The Apple Macintosh Performa 6320 is a desktop personal personal computer which is PowerPC based and runs MacOS. It has a built in floppy disk drive, hard disk and CD-ROM drive and requires an external Apple monitor, external ADB II keyboard and ADB II mouse.
As with the previous Performa 6200 series, the 6300 series machines were plagued with hardware issues caused by a poor architecture design which was directly adapted from the 32-bit Quadra system with a 64-bit data path CPU. Combined with more problems with the IDE controller, SCSI controller and the serial ports, these Performa models are considered to be among the worst Macintoshes ever produced. This troubled design which started with the 6200 series was finally resolved with the 6360, the last of the 6300 series PC's, which had the "Alchemy" architecture. The "Alchemy" boards were then used in the new Power Macintosh 5400 and 6400 series.
